I’m excited to announce that I will speak at Directions ASIA 2025 alongside Steve Gichure. This year, the event expands to three full days of learning, networking, and innovation, and we can’t wait to be a part of it.
💙 This event is also extra special because my wife, Shanika Ranathunga, plans to join me! She recently started her journey as a Business Central consultant, and Directions ASIA 2025 will be her very first event in the BC community. I can’t wait to share this experience with her and watch her explore this amazing ecosystem.
Steve Gichure and I will lead two sessions on the Power Platform and enterprise integration best practices designed for newcomers and experienced professionals who want to unlock more value from Microsoft technologies.
App Building, Simplified: Power Apps + Copilot + Business Central

Our first session, “App Building, Simplified: Power Apps + Copilot + Business Central”, is tailored for anyone new to Power Apps or those starting their journey in low-code development. With the integration of Copilot within Power Apps, we will guide you on quickly creating business apps using natural language prompts. We will then demonstrate how these apps can seamlessly connect with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, creating real-world business value. This session is beginner-friendly and an excellent launchpad for your Power Platform journey.
From Chaos to Connectivity: Integration Best Practices with Power Automate & Azure Services

In our second session, “From Chaos to Connectivity: Integration Best Practices with Power Automate & Azure Services”, we will discuss enterprise integration. As businesses increasingly rely on distributed systems, effective messaging patterns become essential. We’ll explore the various messaging tools available in Azure—such as Service Bus, Event Grid, and Event Hubs—and explain how to choose the right one for your architecture. Additionally, we’ll show how Power Automate can be used alongside these services to streamline processes, ensure message durability, and handle errors gracefully.
About the Conference
Directions ASIA has always been one of my favourite conferences – not just because of the incredible learning opportunities but also because of the community it fosters. It’s where partners, developers, consultants, MVPS, and Microsoft come together to share ideas, build connections, and advance the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform ecosystem.
Even more exciting is that 15 Microsoft MVPs will attend this year, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience, and community spirit. Connecting with so many community leaders under one roof is a rare opportunity.

If you’re attending, I’d love to meet you! Come say hi, join our sessions, and let’s talk about technology, apps, and everything in between.
See you in Bangkok!
Regards,
Tharanga Chandrasekara
